Job Summary

The Implementation & Support Engineer plays a key role in deploying, configuring, and supporting enterprise and telecom software systems within the System Integration Department. Based in Hargeisa, Somaliland, this position supports both internal teams and clients through the full system rollout lifecycle.

The role involves setting up staging and production environments, conducting API and system integration tests, and providing Tier 1/Tier 2 technical support during implementation and go-live phases. The engineer will be responsible for monitoring system performance, documenting configurations, and contributing to training and on boarding efforts. This is a hands-on, technical role suited for junior to mid-level professionals eager to work on real-time deployments in telecom and digital service environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing, configuring, and deploying enterprise and telecom software systems.
  • Conduct environment setup for staging and production including database configuration, domain setup, and basic networking.
  • Support system integration activities including API endpoint testing, data flow validation, and error handling.
  • Monitor system logs, application health, and deployment KPIs during and after go-live.
  • Serve as Tier 1/Tier 2 technical support for clients and internal teams, especially during launch phases.
  • Document all custom configurations, patches, and client-specific setups for future reference.
  • Participate in functional and integration testing with QA teams.
  • Provide basic client training and support documentation to enable local troubleshooting and user adoption

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in system implementation, IT support, or infrastructure configuration roles.

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge of Linux command line, web servers (Nginx, Apache, Tomcat), and shell scripting.
  • Basic experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman or Insomnia for API testing.
  • Understanding of how software systems integrate with SMS/USSD gateways, CBS platforms, or payment systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with teammates.

Bonus / Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with telecom integration projects or digital service deployments.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications such as Linux+, CompTIA, or ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience working with remote or cross-functional teams.
